Avoid mmuds stupidity

I was killing guards in town today (on a mmud board), and some were dropping platinum greatswords.  I was curious how much they sold for... 37 gold.

HOW CAN A GREAT BIG GREATSWORD MADE OF PLATINUM BE WORTH CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN ONE LITTLE PLATINUM COIN?!?!

Let's see if we can avoid that sort of thing in gmud.  If I see it DC, I'll yell at you.
