Elemental damage from monsters

I don't have a cap handy, but many (all?) elemental spell damages seem broken.

I couldn't tell you exactly what's wrong with them, but I've seen a LOT of
Foo hits bar with a blast of baz for 0 damage.

Anyone know anything about this?

If it's the 0 damage part you're referring to then it's not just limited to elemental spells.  The mob vs player magic system seems to be taking DR into account when it displays the message, but not when the damage is calculated/done to the acutal character.

So you will see the wyvern for example, swoop you up and drop you for 0 damage, but you'll still take 9 or 10 damage on your character.
