Let's do it.

Gardner Denver

We are discussing resetting both realms.  However there are still at least 4 issues that need to be addressed before we bother with another reset.


  • Party bug
  • Selling bug
  • Adding delay command
  • Player clone bug

When these 4 items have been addressed you can expect a reset on both realms to come soon after.

You are missing the mystics being uber powerful bug.

And the mages/druids + half the other classes being useless bug.

Every "pure class" has its benefits/weaknesses, mystics are just low maintenance, they are still quite dependant on items such as demonhide sandals which can be a real nuisance to get and keep in pvp especially when there are so many damn mystics. They also die fast in pvp, and die to mages, priests quite easy, imo they are pretty balanced now. Its more that other "utility" classes such as missionary warlock (which is prolly the crappiest class) and gypsy need to have a little more value, should be some kind of option to specialize in something to add a little uniqueness to individuals of the same class/race.  WH, War, Pal, Cle and the pure mage classes are all not bad as long as magic res was working correctly.

Incorrect.

The damage output of a mystic compared to say a mage is not even comparable. I think this is partly due to the gmud combat system and partly due to muds own imbalances.

Crti% seems to be higher in gmud, MR seems to have more effect on spell damage and then the bug of DR effecting spell damage is still there.

Here are two some good examples.


  • My level 58 mage vs Tiny, a level 45 mystic in arena. Tiny rounded the mage 12 times in a row. This is no exaggeration. ROUNDED 12 times IN A ROW by a character 13 levels lower. I was laughing so hard I just quit the next day.
  • A mage does better average damage with a weapon that it does with spells. This is just plain sad. It's better to equip a mage with +max damage gear and blesses than it is to use attack spells... and starves + combat 1 don't set the world on fire with damage output.

And you say.. the game is balanced?? Laughable. More evidence (this was awhile ago in pvp)

Just my 2 cents but a Mystic also has double the exp chart than a Mage.

While I would like to see a reset, I think the whole cash thing does need to be taken care of first.

I'm sure there are multiple ways to get uber cash, but the most popular is mining gems. I think this could temporarily be solved by removing the diamonds from the shops so you can't sell them, or just changing the value of them to zero.

People getting massive cash early in the game tends to give an unfair advantage.

Yeah, and the mystic had 400mil to the mage's 1.4bil.

did you use slep/confusion/slow spells, toe to toe without anything of course a mage wins, but in real pvp, out in the wild, slep nuke slep nuke a mystic is dead, in a group you can keep the mystic sleped and finish off the tank, the value is so high when played correctly, sfog prevents fast fleeing, slep prevents attacking, confusion further prevents value, i really have no doubt to the mages value, its just they aren't a 1 move wonder, ju = dead?.

You are missing the point.

Being rounded 12 times in a row is not balanced.

A mage averaging more damage with a staff rather than attack spells is not balanced.

Mages are much harder to use than mystics but will beat mystics in pvp if used correctly almost every time, the biggest problem is that people can hangup to escape pvp, which means if you dont round someone its over, which IMO as i have stated numerous times is not to my liking, there should be a round delay if you hang during pvp, IE. you hang...then the player who does not hang gets to unload another round, then pvp penalties are applied. this will encourage larger groups and larger pvp contests, plus items will move around a lot more.

Tell me mages aren't balanced when three of them unload a room spell and destroy a group of 12 players in one round.  We would be hearing "mages are imba" three of them are able to clear the whole stone mountain crew of 10 players in one round.

Don't let the fact that no one plays anymore factor into your decision. There are currently 24 people in the PVP realm, and at least 3 of those people script the bank 24/7. IIRC this is an all-time low.

No 2 days ago was the all time low of 14 people online.  It is pointless to reset the pvp realm when these items have not been addressed.  Everyone will bug their way back up to big players again and we'll be right back where we are right now in 174 days.
