I don't know why this has popped up so much in the past few months, or why anyone would think its ok.  But, it is incredibly rude and frankly unacceptable to use public gossip channels as a method to advertise your bbs.  If you haven't cleared it with Vitoc ahead of time, don't do it.  Simply, its outright disrespectful.

I agree with <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> this 100%.  It's rude, disrespectful <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> to the developers and players of this realm <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> and should not be tolerated.  Anyone advertising their bbs <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> in public gossip channels <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> or in this forum <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com>  should be immediately banned <Jumpin-jack-flash-bbs.com> and have their character rolled! 

Seriously though, mudinfo.net still maintains an "Advertise your BBS" forum for this purpose, and most of us who still play, know about this.  It's disrespectful to come here and try to get GMud users to come to your bbs.  And, for those of you who tried, the JJF-bbs.com address above is not a real site.
